Michael Gordon, M.D.

A Milwaukee native, Dr. Michael Gordon’s practice specializes in sports medicine and the disorders of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. His medical trifecta includes an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, an orthopaedic surgery residency from the prestigious Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, and a fellowship in sports medicine from Boston’s New England Baptist Hospital where he worked with the Boston Celtics.

Dr. Gordon is involved with the care of athletes of all levels. In addition to his role as team physician for the Milwaukee Bucks, he works with Marquette University varsity athletes covering all sports, as well as the students of Grafton High School. The Badgerland Striders – the 7th largest running organization in the country, have named him their “physician advisor.”

Beyond his practice, Dr. Gordon is a clinical instructor in orthopaedic surgery for the Medical College of Wisconsin and at Marquette University in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. He has performed extensive research on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and knee joint. A published author, his findings have been presented at national conferences and comprise a chapter in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Orthopaedic Knowledge Update: Sports Medicine 3 (2004).

Dr. Gordon, an avid sports fan and participant, earned a varsity letter as a place kicker for the University of Pennsylvania football team, and recently completed his ninth marathon – including Boston, Chicago, and Milwaukee’s Lakefront.
